20% of high school seniors and sophomores vaped marijuana last year
A new report that looked at trends in teen substance use among eighth, 10th, and 12th graders in the U.S. finds that about 1 in 5 high school seniors and sophomores say they have vaped marijuana in the past year. More than 60% of high school seniors said they vaped just to see what it was like, with around 40% saying they liked the flavors.
Another report that looked at survey data from middle- and high-schoolers between 2017-2018 finds that students using marijuana in e-cigarettes went from about 1 in 10 children in 2017 to more than 1 in 7 children last year. Those who had already been using at least one tobacco product and those who lived with someone who also used e-cigarettes were most likely to report vaping marijuana last year.
