PRISM™ App Receives Second Place in AMIA’s App Showcase Competition
The American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) awarded The PROMIS Reporting and Insight System of Minnesota (PRISM™) app, the second place award in their Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR®) App Showcase competition at their Annual Symposium. The project, funded by AHRQ, developed a Substitutable Medical Applications, Reusable Technologies (SMART®) on FHIR® app to collect standardized patient-reported outcome data. PRISM™ may enhance the discussion between healthcare providers and patients by allowing for patient engagement outside of the clinical setting, with value-added features including peer group comparisons, and personalized recommendations for follow-up actions to further engage patients in their care. The app was developed as part of AHRQ’s Step Up Challenge where the goal was to create a user-friendly app that could collect and share patient-reported outcomes to improve the quality of care around the Nation.
