CDC Lists No Measles Deaths For 2026 After It Changes Its Tracking Method
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention now will draw data from the National Center for Health Statistics when it reports measles death counts. This system is “not meant to confirm an individual case"; instead, it’s “usually focused on high-quality, long-term mortality trend analysis,” a former CDC expert said. Pennsylvania health officials have confirmed two measles-associated deaths this year; another case is pending.
