Join us on 12/4: Vital Signs HIV Among Youth Twitter ChatCenters for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent this bulletin at 11/29/2012 02:59 PM EST
Join CDC Director, Dr. Tom Frieden for a live Twitter chat about CDC’s new Vital Signs issue on HIV among Youth in the United States. This new report shows that 1 in 4 new HIV infections occur in youth, ages 13-24 years.
Because many youth are not being tested, they can unknowingly pass the virus on to others. Helping youth get the prevention services they need is an important step in protecting a generation from HIV.
We all have a role to play. Dr. Frieden will be joined by CDC experts Dr. Jonathan Mermin, Director of CDC’s Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, and Dr. Howell Wechsler, Director of CDC’s Division of Adolescent and School Health to answer your questions and discuss the role of parents, schools, community-based organizations, health care providers and the web in ensuring youth receive prevention education, HIV testing, and care.
Tuesday, December 4th, 3:00-4:00PM EST
