Source: National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] (CDC NIOSH). Published: 10/2019. This 24-page report was written in response to a law enforcement agency request for a health hazard evaluation concerning illnesses among multiple law enforcement officers (LEOs) from multiple agencies who participated in a law enforcement operation. Illnesses among LEOs were reported to have begun the day of or soon after the operation. The law enforcement agency was concerned that the reported illnesses may have been associated with work-related exposures during the operation, when illicit drugs, guns, and explosive devices were found.
