Majority of millennials haven’t gotten their flu shot

The American Academy of Family Physicians released new data that reveal millennials have misconceptions about the flu and are least likely to get vaccinated. Here’s more: 

• Flu facts: On a quiz about basic flu facts, 86% of millennials got at least one question wrong. 55% of millennials haven’t gotten a flu shot this season, and a third of them are not planning to get one. 
• Vaccination: More than 60% of millennials who are familiar with anti-vaccination rhetoric say they agree with some of those beliefs, compared to 42% of boomers who say the same.
• Demographics: 45% of African Americans say they’re familiar with anti-vaccination rhetoric, compared to 59% of Hispanic Americans and 52% of Asian Americans. Nearly 80% of Asian Americans have ever gotten a flu shot, compared to 69% of African Americans and 73% of Hispanic Americans.
