Patients' views of adverse events in primary and ambulatory care: a systematic review to assess methods and the content of what patients consider to be adverse events.

This systematic review of 19 studies sought to characterize patients' perceptions related tosafety in ambulatory care. Researchers found that patients seem to take a broad view of patient safety that includes concerns related to service quality and communication.
