Disparities in Individuals’ Access and Use of Health IT in 2014
Findings from ONC’s Data brief no.30 and Quick Stat no. 46 show that individuals’ use of information technology (IT) for health needs and individuals’ being offered online access to their medical records grew significantly between 2013 and 2014. However, prior analysis also revealed that disparities in online access of medical records and use of IT for health-related needs existed by certain socio-demographic characteristics and geographic settings in 2013. Data brief no. 34 builds on this previous work by examining 2014 national survey data to identify disparities in online access of medical records and use of IT for health needs.
