2008-2014 Data Now Available in
WISQARS Fatal Injury Mapping
CDC recently updated WISQARS to include 2008-2014 fatal injury mapping data. These data are now available in WISQARS Fatal Injury Mapping. The mapping module allows users to produce customized, color-coded maps depicting injury-related death rates throughout the United States. It shows the distribution of injury-related death rates nationally, regionally, and by individual states and counties. This helps users compare injury rates across specified geographic areas and monitor fatal injuries and their associated burden in the United States.
The Web-based Injury Statistics Query and Reporting System (WISQARS) is an interactive, online database that provides fatal and nonfatal injury data from a variety of sources. Researchers, practitioners, the media, and the general public can use WISQARS data to learn more about the public health and economic burden of injury in the United States. Users can search, sort, and view the injury data and create reports, charts, maps, and slides.
