A Celebration of National Rural Health Day
At the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), we’re celebrating National Rural Health Day. Visit the CMS Rural Health website for updates on activities happening this month.
We’ll be highlighting strides toward increasing access to quality care for people in rural communities across the nation. Here’s what we have planned:
- CMS Blog by Administrator Verma, Rural Health at CMS: What’s Been Done and What’s to Come. Get updates and insights about CMS progress in advancing rural health from the Administrator’s post on the CMS Blog.
- Innovations in Rural Health Event on November 21. This daylong event hosted by HRSA in partnership with CMS will hear from several HHS programs to celebrate rural health. Join the live-stream.
- Rural Maternal Health Forum External Report. To continue the conversation around maternal health in rural communities, CMS OMH has posted a summary of the Rural Maternal Health Forum panels, discussions, and questions addressed during the event on June 12, 2019.
- Release of the Rural-Urban Disparities in Health Care in Medicare Report. This updated national report examines the differences in the rural and urban patient experience and quality of care, as well as how quality of care varies for people of different races and ethnicities.
