Chief, Laboratory of Allergic Diseases

NIAID’s Division of Intramural Research is seeking an outstanding clinician scientist to lead the Laboratory of Allergic Diseases in Bethesda, MD. LAD conducts basic, translational, and clinical research on immunologic diseases with an emphasis on disorders of immediate hypersensitivity, which include the spectrum of classic allergic diseases.
The laboratory chief will have independent resources to conduct laboratory research and translational/clinical research, as appropriate. A laboratory chief in DIR is equivalent to a department chair in a university or medical school. Candidates must be U.S. citizens with an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent and relevant board certification, preferably in internal medicine or pediatrics, with proven ability to carry out a strong independent research program.
