This 58-page report highlights priorities for the eastern Gulf region, identified by a diverse audience convened at two workshops in Mobile and Bayou La Batre, Alabama, on May 6–7, 2019, to gather local input from communities that have been or are likely to be impacted by oil spills. Participants focused on three broadly defined themes: building resilience to future events, incorporating human health and societal needs into oil spill response, and understanding risk before, during, and after a spill. The workshops were sponsored by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine Gulf Research Program, and the Sea Grant Program. (PDF)
