This 20-page document provides guidance about the review of deaths of children in disasters and mass fatality events, and explains why accurate quantification of deaths after any type of disaster can provide insight into the severity of the event and its burden on the affected population. Due to the vulnerability of children in a disaster, a death review after such an event is warranted to identify how to improve preparedness.
