The effect of nursing care delivery models on quality and safety outcomes of care: A cross‐sectional survey study of medical‐surgical nurses.

Havaei F, MacPhee M, Dahinten VS. The effect of nursing care delivery models on quality and safety outcomes of care: A cross‐sectional survey study of medical‐surgical nurses. Journal of Advanced Nursing (John Wiley & Sons, Inc). Oct, 2019 [epub April, 2019];75(10):2144-2155.

This study looked at the impact of two different models of delivering care by nurses, team versus total care, on quality of care and adverse events. The authors found that the team nursing model reported higher frequency of adverse events when there were licensed practical nurses on the team.
