The #PeepYourScience contest returns for a second year
Here’s one sign that spring is on its way: The #PeepYourScience contest is back! Hosted by the science writing resource The Open Notebook, the competition debuted last year and tasked contestants with creating science-themed scenes using the marshmallow treats, which show up in grocery stores aisles around springtime (at least here in the U.S.). Last year’s winner was “Hidden Peeps,” a diorama based on the Black female mathematicians who made essential contributions at NASA during the Space Race. Judges were impressed with how the entry depicted the social context behind the science. Enter this year’s contest starting Feb. 15 — and check out more of last year’s winners — here.
