Selected Federal Legal Authorities Pertinent to Public Health Emergencies. Originally published in 2009, this document has been updated to reflect the legislative and regulatory changes of the past five years. Public health professionals can use this document as a brief overview of the types of legal authorities granted to the federal government to prepare for and respond to public health emergencies.
