Development of the Learning Health System Researcher Core Competencies
Summary
The learning health system (LHS) is a novel and rapidly evolving approach for improving the outcomes of individuals, populations, and health care organizations. AHRQ—in collaboration with experts from the learning health system, health services research, and patient-centered outcomes research fields—developed and prioritized a set of core competencies to guide the design, implementation, and evaluation of training programs for LHS researchers. This summary presents the LHS researcher core competencies that can be used to guide the development of learning objectives, evaluation methods, and curricula for training programs.
