The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) is pleased to announce the call for abstracts for the 2nd International Symposium to Advance Total Worker Health®. The conference will be held May 8-11, 2018 at the Natcher Conference Center, National Institute of Health (NIH), Bethesda, Maryland. The purpose of the conference is to convene researchers and practitioners from the United States and abroad that are making important contributions to advance Total Worker Health research and practice. We invite you to contribute to the 2018 Symposium and help us spread the word about the 2018 Symposium.
As we announce this call for abstracts, we would like to bring your attention to the following:
Symposium Theme and Goals: The 2018 Symposium theme is Work & Well-Being: How Safer, Healthier Work Can Enhance Well-Being. The goals of the conference are 1) to reaffirm our dedication and commitment to safety and health, 2) to redesign the way we lead, supervise, and organize the work environment, and 3) to reveal novel research and strategies to improve worker well-being, establish new links between work and the risks for chronic disease, and advance the Total Worker Health field.
Abstract Themes and Topics of Interest: Theme-related topics will include: Workplace Risks and Health Outcomes, Health and the Work Environment, Approaches to Supervision and Employee Relations and Links to Health, Changing Workforce Demographics, Work-Life Continuum and Implications for Well-being, Work Design and New Technologies, Globalization and the International Economy, Partnerships and Collaborations, and Advancing the State of the Science for Total Worker Health approaches.
Proposal Submission: We are seeking abstracts for poster presentations, plenary sessions, concurrent sessions (symposia and brief scientific paper or practice/intervention sessions), and pre-conference workshops. A conference participant may submit a total of no more than three proposals.
Abstract Submission Deadline: All abstract submissions must be made electronically through the online abstract submission portal by October 31, 2017 at 11:59pm PDT: http://www.eagleson.org/
