    Can first-year medical students acquire quality improvement knowledge prior to substantial clinical exposure? A mixed-methods evaluation of a pre-clerkship curriculum that uses education as the context for learning.

      The National Patient Safety Foundation has called for medical educators to emphasize quality, safety, and systems thinking throughout physician training. The authors describe a novel, well-liked, and effective medical school curriculum where learners employ systems thinking to improve the curriculum itself.
