Medical Expenditure Panel Survey (MEPS)

AHRQ is pleased to announce the recent release of the following MEPS data products and publications:

The 2007 Full Year Consolidated Data File (HC-113) contains data associated with 30,964 persons who participated in the MEPS Household Component of the Medical Expenditure Panel Survey in 2007. The person-level file provides information on the sample's geographic location, demographic characteristics, income and tax filing status, employment status, health insurance status, disability days used, access to health care, and perceived health status. In addition, this file contains utilization, expenditure, and source of payment information for several categories of health care services.

The 2007 Medical Conditions File (HC-112) contains 94,246 medical conditions reported by MEPS household survey respondents reported in 2007. This file also contains information on priority conditions collected for the first time during Panel 12 Round 1 interviews. Data from the 2007 conditions file can be merged with the any 2007 person-level data file to append person-level characteristics such as demographic or health insurance characteristics to each condition record reported by a household respondent.
