AHRQ Patient Safety Network

A systematic review of adult admissions to ICUs related to adverse drug events.

Jolivot PA, Hindlet P, Pichereau C, et al. Crit Care. 2014;18:643.

According to this systematic review, adverse drug events are a frequent cause of admission to intensive care units. The review was limited by methodological problems with the definitions of adverse drug events used in individual studies, an issue noted in prior research.
