Ebola Virus Disease — Sierra Leone and Guinea, August 2015 Sara Hersey, MPH, Lise D. Martel, PhD, Amara Jambai, MD, et al. MMWR Morb Mortal Wkly Rep 2015;64(Early Release):1-5 Liberia has not reported a case of Ebola virus disease since July 12, 2015. However, transmission continues in Guinea and Sierra Leone, although the numbers of cases reported are at the lowest point in a year. This report details the current situation in Guinea and Sierra Leone, outlines strategies to interrupt transmission, and highlights the need to maintain public health response capacity and vigilance for new cases at this critical time to end the outbreak.
