@CMSgovPress Twitter Account Launch

Today, The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Office of Communications launched the new Twitter handle, @CMSgovPress. This new handle will be led by the Media Relations Group in Washington D.C.

@CMSgovPress will be dedicated to promoting news relating to CMS as it happens, offering members of the media and the public the opportunity to receive information immediately on the social media platform. News posted on the Twitter account will occur as it happens and in conjunction with the traditional dissemination channels including press releases, fact sheets, blogs, data releases, speeches and any other newsworthy events that may interest the media and the general public.

The new account will be managed separately from @CMSgov, which targets a broad audience directed to beneficiaries, providers, vendors, and the general public, including the media.
