APIC’s President-elect, Linda R. Greene, RN, MPS, FAPIC, CIC will provide introductory remarks. Dr. Benjamin Park will then discuss healthcare outbreaks from a global perspective, including what happens during an outbreak, the importance of healthcare facilities in containing and preventing outbreaks, and strategies for how you can help prepare and prevent the next avoidable catastrophe.
Dr. Park is the Chief of the International Infection Control Program at CDC. CDC’s mission is to protect patients and healthcare workers globally by providing expertise, evidence, and implementation strategies to sustainably address infectious disease threats related to healthcare delivery.
