AHRQ Supports Inaugural Healthcare Simulation Week

AHRQ joins the Society for Simulation in Healthcare (SSH) in support of the first U.S. Healthcare Simulation Week, September 11-15. Healthcare simulation can lead to safer patient care by allowing clinicians to perfect techniques and explore new approaches without putting patients at risk. A new blog cobylined by Jeff Brady, M.D., M.P.H., director of AHRQ’s Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and Christine Park, M.D., president of the SSH Board of Directors, focuses on how healthcare simulation works, how it can be used, and how it benefits patient care. Check below a few ways to participate in Healthcare Simulation Week:
  • Join SSH’s Facebook Live events September 12-15
  • Participate in the @Twitter Journal Club discussion on “Evaluation of a Simpler Tool to Assess Nontechnical Skills During Simulated Critical Events” hosted by SSH on Wednesday, September 13, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. (ET)
  • Follow us on @AHRQNews, Facebook, and LinkedIn to learn healthcare simulation terms and get your “Simulation Word of the Day”
  • Access our funding opportunitiesAHRQ is accepting applications for healthcare simulation projects.
