Inside STAT: New policy would force pharma to disclose payments to nurse practitioners
Under new legislation Congress is likely to finalize any day now, drug companies and medical device makers would have to disclose payments and gifts made to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and nurse anesthetists starting in 2020. The new rule would expand the Sunshine Act, which was implemented in 2013 and currently only applies to doctors. “This brings the same level of transparency to these financial relationships as already applies to physicians and teaching hospitals,” says Allan Coukell of the Pew Charitable Trusts.
