Patient safety climate: a study of Southern California healthcare organizations.

Improving the culture of safety within health care is an essential component of preventing or reducing errors. This study reports on the development and initial validation of a novel safety culture survey. The tool incorporates similar domains to other existing safety culture surveysbut is designed to offer a brief way to assess safety climate at the organizational level.
