Please Join Us for a Webinar on Measuring Inpatient Hypoglycemia Events

Real-world Experience with Implementing an Inpatient Hypoglycemia Quality Measure
We would like to invite you to join us for the webinar:
"Real-world Experience with Implementing an Inpatient Hypoglycemia Quality Measure,” which will take place on:
Thursday, September 13, 2018
1:00 – 2:00 PM ET
Registration Required: See Link Below
This webinar will describe the efforts and preliminary results of a study to implement reporting of an NQF-endorsed quality measure for inpatient hypoglycemia. This work builds on previous efforts to use a common data model across hospital networks using automated queries to inform electronic capture of quality measures. This session will discuss how the measure was implemented across three hospital systems to generate inpatient hypoglycemia event rates using electronic data; lessons learned from implementing the measure, including challenges and solutions; and how implementing a measure like this can be used in quality improvement efforts for hospital glycemic management.
The session will feature presentations from the study’s leads:
  • Craig Conover, MD, Executive Medical Director, Medical Research Analytics and Informatics Alliance (MRAIA);
  • William Trick, MD, Director, Collaborative Research Unit, Cook County Health and Hospitals System, and Professor of Medicine, Rush University Medical Center; and
  • Yannis Guerra, MD, Attending Physician, Department of Diabetes & Endocrinology, Cook County Health and Hospitals System, and Assistant Professor, Rush University Medical Center.
Who Should Attend?
  • Hospital medication safety and quality improvement leaders and staff
  • Hospital health IT personnel who work on quality measures and clinical data queries
  • Physicians, pharmacists, and nurses with interest in hospital glycemic management efforts
The session will be moderated by Bruce Spurlock, MD (NCD). Please bring your questions, comments, and experiences to share.
