Factors affecting attitudes and barriers to a medical emergency team among nurses and medical doctors: a multi-centre survey.

In this survey, the majority of Italian hospital staff highly valued medical emergency teams (METs). However, more than 60% of ward nurses reported that they would usually call the covering doctor before activating an MET, which presents a major barrier to MET effectiveness.
