Prevalence of potentially inappropriate medication use in older adults living in nursing homes: a systematic review.

Adverse drug events in older patients are common, and those living in nursing homes may be at particularly high risk for receiving inappropriate medications. This systematic review found that almost half of nursing home residents are exposed to potentially inappropriate medications and that prevalence has increased over time.
