Disclosure of harmful medical error to patients: a review with recommendations for pathologists.

Disclosure of medical errors is a recommended patient safety practice. However, opportunities for pathologists to improve their skill in this area are limited. This review provides recommendations to help pathologists recognize when disclosure is needed and participate in disclosure as appropriate.
