SAMHSA is seeking applications for up to $2 million for a grant to improve health care for the Hispanic/Latino community

The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) is accepting applications for one grant of up to $2 million for the Targeted Capacity Expansion - Hispanic/Latino Center of Excellence for Substance Use Disorder Treatment and Recovery Program.

The purpose of this program is to strengthen the specialized behavioral and primary healthcare workforce that provides substance use disorder treatment and recovery services to Hispanic and Latino populations. The grant recipient will work with SAMHSA and its Addiction Technology Transfer Centers to improve the quality and effectiveness of treatment and recovery. The recipient will also work with providers of clinical and recovery support services to improve the quality of workforce training and service delivery to Hispanic/Latino communities.

SAMHSA expects to fund one grant with up to $400,000 per year for up to five years. The actual award may differ based on availability of funds. The funding opportunity announcement for this grant is available at https://www.samhsa.gov/grants/grant-announcements/ti-18-012.

WHO CAN APPLY: Eligible applicants are domestic public and private non-profit entities.

HOW TO APPLY: All applicants must register with the National Institutes of Health’s electronic Research Administration (eRA) Commons in order to submit an application. If your organization is not registered or you do not have an active eRA Commons account by the deadline, the application will not be accepted. Applicants must also register with the System for Award Management, SAM.gov, and Grants.gov.
