Webinar: Understanding Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT)

SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services invites you to join a one-hour, free, educational webinar about AOT. Participants will learn the basics of AOT, which is an approach that involves petitioning courts to order some individuals living with serious mental illness (SMI) to comply with community-based treatment. Brian Stettin, JD, Policy Director for the Treatment Advocacy Center and Marvin Swartz, MD, Professor of Psychiatry at the Duke University School of Medicine, will address the implications of AOT and how court involvement facilitates the engagement of services that help a person achieve recovery.
