Patients Improve the Accuracy of their Medical Records
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is a cooperative agreement partner of National eHealth Collaborative (NeHC).
Program Description:
On Monday, February 4, 2013 from 12:00-1:30PM EST, NeHC University and ONC will present a follow-up to the webinar "Keeping EHRs Error-Free: The Value of Patient Engagement" titled "Patients Improve the Accuracy of their Medical Records." In this program, we'll discuss findings from an ONC funded evaluation of a pilot project at Geisinger Health System in which patients were encouraged to provide feedback on their medication list as recorded in the EHR in advance of their patient visit. The results demonstrate that patients can be effectively engaged online to improve the quality of the information contained in their health record. The presentation will also explore the implications of the study and how it will affect policy makers and the healthcare community.
