Using simulation to improve patient safety: dawn of a new era.

Simulation is an educational model designed to provide a safe environment for learning and practicing new skills. This commentary describes the benefits to adopting this strategy to improve patient outcomes inpediatric settings and makes recommendations to integrate simulation at the systems level.
