Measure on Use of Imaging for Headache and Seizures in Children—New Fact Sheet Now Available
Registration is now open for an Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)-sponsored webinar that will focus on a new set of measures of care coordination for children with medical complexity. The webinar will feature a presentation by Rita Mangione-Smith, MD, of Seattle Children’s Research Institute, as well as presentations from two users of the measures: Dr. David Bergman at Stanford and Dr. Valerie Harder of the National Improvement Partnership Network. The webinar will be held May 12, 2015, from 1:30-3 pm EDT/10:30-12 pm PDT.
The new pediatric quality measure fact sheet, Overuse of Imaging for Headache and Seizure, Policy for ALARA Specific to Imaging Children, is now available. The purpose of the measure is to assess the performance of imaging studies with radiation doses “as low as reasonably achievable” (ALARA) for children under the age of 18 years.
