Exciting QI Job Opportunity at AHRQ!

AHRQ--Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: Advancing Excellence in Health Care

AHRQ is recruiting staff service fellows to work on Quality Indicators
AHRQ is recruiting up to two Health Services Research methodologists to advance its work on AHRQ Quality Indicators (QIs).
The AHRQ QIs, use administrative data to measure and track safety, quality, and access, are one of the Agency’s most powerful and visible programs. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) use many of the AHRQ QIs for public reporting and payment; states use some QIs for public reporting; public health officials and others use them to target interventions for improving access and forestall potentially preventable hospital admissions; hospitals use the measures in quality improvement; and researchers use them extensively to develop new evidence about ways to improve safety, quality, accessibility, affordability, and equity. Because of this increasingly important and visible use of the AHRQ QIs, it is essential that we continuously scrutinize them in light of the latest evidence and data capacities, and continuously sharpen and update them. The methodologist will work with the existing Quality Indicators team in AHRQ’s Center for Delivery, Organization, and Markets to accomplish this.
The position is a two-year renewable Staff Service Fellow position, at the civil service equivalent of a GS 12, 13, or 14, depending on qualifications and experience. The position descriptions and requirements can be found in the links below. Because the necessary methodological skill-set could come from a number of different disciplines, such as Statistics, Economics, Epidemiology, or Nursing, we have not specified a discipline and will consider candidates demonstrating a rigorous expertise in measurement and healthcare delivery.
