New CHIPRA Evaluation Highlight on Perinatal Quality Improvement

New CHIPRA Evaluation Highlight on Perinatal Quality Improvement

AHRQ--Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: Advancing Excellence in Health Care

CHIPRA Evaluation Highlight No. 12 Now Available

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality has published the twelfth Evaluation Highlight from the CMS-funded CHIPRA Quality Demonstration Grant Program, now available on the national evaluation Web site under What We Learned. This Highlight focuses on how Demonstration partners Illinois and Florida worked together to transform the quality of perinatal care in their respective States. CHIPRA grant funding helped establish or expand perinatal quality collaboratives or PQCs. PQCs engage hospitals in evidence-based and data-driven quality improvement projects aimed at improving perinatal care and outcomes for pregnant women and newborns. Both States implemented systems-level changes and reported improved outcomes for several quality measures.
