Newly Released Public Health Status Report includes information on patient safety topics
The newest iteration of the CDC Prevention Status Reports (PSRs) is now available online. These state-level reports highlight the status of policies and practices designed to address 10 important health problems and concerns, including healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). This report highlights two practices to reduce HAIs and antibiotic resistance:
- Implementing state activities to build capacity for HAI prevention
- Implementing stewardship programs to improve antibiotic use in acute care hospitals
For additional information about national and state progress to prevent HAIs, check out CDC’s National and State Healthcare-Associated Infections Progress Report.
Improving health care through HAIs and antibiotic resistance prevention, detection, and response are priorities for CDC, the US Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), and the White House.
