The National Quality Strategy's Priorities in Action series highlights some of the Nation's most promising quality improvement programs and their alignment to the National Quality Strategy's six priorities. In conjunction with the May 17 Webinar on the new 2015 National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report and 5th Anniversary Update on the National Quality Strategy, the National Quality Strategy published a Priority in Action featuring the Lourie Center for Children's Social and Emotional Wellness, which aligns to the NQS' care coordination priority. The Center is a nationally recognized pioneer, incubator, and disseminator of evidence-based treatments and best practices in the field of early childhood development, prevention of emotional or behavioral disorders, and intervention. More than 4,000 children and families in the Washington, DC, metropolitan area-80 percent of whom are enrolled in Medicaid-annually receive care at the Center. The Lourie Center seeks to improve the social and emotional health of young children and families through prevention, early intervention, education, research and training. |
