Informatics is the new normal in health care delivery

ARmy Lt. Col. Eli Seeley (right), chief health information officer for the Regional Health Command Europe, discussed the critical role of informatics in health care during the "Informatics in the MHS" session at the Defense Health Information Technology Symposium in Orlando, Florida, on Aug. 3.
Seeley said informatics, the science of processing data, is the new normal and the Military Health System will use the science to find better patient outcomes. He was joined by Col. Ray Jeter (left), chief medical information officer in the Office of the Air Force Surgeon General and Navy Capt. James Ellzy, deputy program executive officer in the Defense Healthcare Management Systems office.
