Using Kotter's change model for implementing bedside handoff: a quality improvement project.

Change management has been described as a critical strategy to ensure safety improvements are sustained. This commentary discusses how one hospital applied a well-known change model to implement a new bedside handoff process and reports positive reactions from nursesand patients one month after the intervention.
