64th Meeting of National Advisory Council for Complementary and Integrative Health (NACCIH)
This Friday, October 6, join us via Videocast for the 64th Meeting of the NCCIH Advisory Council. The open session will begin at 9:45 a.m. ET. Speakers in the morning include NCCIH Director Dr. Josephine Briggs on NCCIH accomplishments; Dr. Craig Hopp on a concept clearance; and NIDCR's Dr. Lawrence Tabak on Next Generation Researcher Initiatives.
The National Pain Strategy and the Federal Pain Research Strategy are two initiatives developed in response to the prescription opioid epidemic. In the afternoon, experts and leaders from the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration will discuss what their organizations are doing to address the opioid epidemic as well as the challenge of treating chronic pain. This portion of the meeting will begin around 1 p.m. ET.
