October is Domestic Violence Month

Intimate partner violence is widespread and has far-reaching consequences. But it doesn’t have to. Domestic Violence Awareness Month is a time to come together to show that intimate partner violence can be prevented.
Throughout October, we invite you and your organization to participate in three activities to help increase understanding about intimate partner violence and evidence-based strategies to stop it before it starts.
Change Profile Photos
  • October 1-31: A Twibbon overlay to customize Facebook and Twitter profile photos enables awareness for prevention and motivates your friends and followers to do the same. Change profile photo.
Intimate Partner Violence Theme Week on VetoViolence Facebook
  • October 16-20: The VetoViolence Facebook page will share intimate partner violence prevention information, resources, and images, focusing on evidence-based prevention strategies. Visit VetoViolence on Facebook.
Facebook Q&A with CDC
  • October 18, Noon – 1 p.m. EST: Ask CDC experts your questions about intimate partner violence and what works to stop it before it starts at all levels. Sign up for reminder.
