Lung Cancer Screening Decision Aid and Tools for Health Care Professionals and Patients
This new decision aid and toolkit were developed to help patients between the ages of 55-80, who have smoked for many years, make informed decisions with their health care professionals about getting screened for lung cancer with low-dose computed tomography (LDCT). The resources will help patients and their health care professionals prepare to talk about whether lung cancer screening is appropriate as well as the possible benefits and harms of screening using this method. Low-dose computed tomography is the only recommended screening test for lung cancer.
The lung cancer screening decision aid and toolkit are available at https://www. effectivehealthcare.ahrq.gov/ tools-and-resources/patient- decision-aids/lung-cancer- screening/.
