SAVE THE DATE
AHRQ will conduct a one-day hands-on HCUP Data Users’ Workshop in Rockville, MD, on September 19, 2017.
This intermediate-level workshop is designed for health services researchers and analysts who want to learn more about using Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project (HCUP) databases and products. Those interested in learning more about using the State Ambulatory Surgery and Services Databases (SASD) and how they differ from the State Inpatient Databases (SID) and State Emergency Department Databases (SEDD) would especially benefit from the workshop. Faculty will present instruction on working with the HCUP databases to conduct cross sectional analyses, with a specific hands-on comparison of the HCUP SASD and SID databases and how to use HCUP-US documentation to their advantage when developing analyses. Participants will use their own computers loaded with text editing software and will walk through SAS programs on the databases.
Computers will NOT be provided. Prior SAS knowledge will be beneficial, but is not required.
The workshop is offered free of charge.
A full program description, registration form, and logistical information will be available by late July on the Workshops & Webinars page of the HCUP-US Web site at: hcup-us.ahrq.gov/hcup_web_
