AHRQ National Advisory Council to Meet November 3

The National Advisory Council (NAC) for Healthcare Research and Quality will meet November 3 in the 5th floor pavilion at 5600 Fishers Lane, Rockville, MD. The council, which consists of members from the private sector and seven ex-officio members from other federal health agencies, provides advice to the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Director of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).

The meeting, which runs from 7:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., will feature:

A meeting of the National Healthcare Quality and Disparities Report subcommittee.
An update on AHRQ activities by AHRQ Director Gopal Khanna, M.B.A., and Deputy Director Sharon B. Arnold, Ph.D.
Discussions about AHRQ’s work in data and analytics to address emerging issues led by Jenny A. Schnaier, M.A., and Pamela Owens, Ph.D., from AHRQ’s Center for Delivery, Organization, and Markets.
An update on AHRQ’s work on the learning health system by Jaime Zimmerman, M.P.H., P.M.P., Brigid Russell, M.H.A., and David Meyers, M.D., FAAP, Chief Medical Officer, all in AHRQ’s Office of the Director.
An update on AHRQ’s Patient Safety Learning Labs led by Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety Director Jeffrey Brady, M.D., M.P.H.; Kerm Henrickson Ph.D., Senior Advisor, Center for Quality Improvement and Patient Safety; and Alan D. Ravitz, P.E., Ph.D, Chief Engineer, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory.
