2017 ONC Annual Meeting
ONC welcomes Seema Verma, administrator for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), as a keynote speaker at ONC’s 2017 Annual Meeting, Tackling Barriers to Interoperability and Usability. She joins Eric Dishman, Director of the National Institutes of Health’s All of Us Research Program, and other health IT and health policy experts that will be speaking during the event. Please note that the plenary sessions on both days, as well as the Trusted Exchange Framework & Common Agreement session on day 1, will be webcast. Patient Matching Algorithm Challenge Winners
Winners of ONC's Patient Matching Algorithm Challenge have been named. ONC designed the challenge to spur the development of innovative new algorithms, benchmark current performance, and help researchers, innovators, and industry agree on common metrics for success. The winning submissions were selected from over 140 competing teams and almost 7,000 submissions using an ONC-provided dataset. Read about the winners.

HHS Opioid Symposium & Code-a-Thon
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is asking experienced data scientists, computer programmers, researchers, public health experts, and innovators to come to Washington, DC for an opioid Code-a-Thon on December 6-7, which will challenge participants to develop data-driven solutions to combat the opioid epidemic. There will be three prize opportunities up to $10,000 each– one for each challenge track. Learn more about participating in the Code-a-Thon.

- Are experienced: Teams should bring significant professional experience in their respective fields and/or have participated in a public or private sector sponsored Code-a-Thon.
