Draft Quality and Safety Report Available for CommentMost people will experience at least one diagnostic error in their lifetime, sometimes with devastating consequences, according to the National Academy of Sciences. The National Quality Forum (NQF), with funding support from HHS, convened a committee to develop a framework for measuring diagnostic quality and safety in healthcare and identify measures that could be used to assess diagnostic accuracy and improvement. NQF’s Draft Report: Improving Diagnostic Quality & Safety describes the measurement framework for diagnostic quality and safety and related measure concepts as well as measurement areas, and recommendations from the Committee.
Public comment on the report and measurement framework closes Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 6:00pm ET. Submit your comments on the NQF project page. For questions, contact the NQF project team.
