FY 2013 Budget

In 2012, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) continued its work to improve the health and well-being of the American people. We continued to implement the health care law, the Affordable Care Act. The law is expanding benefits to millions of Americans while increasing options and decreasing costs.
We responded to disasters like Hurricane Sandy. Our prevention efforts are helping reduce childhood obesity and tobacco use. We developed a National Plan to Address Alzheimer’s Disease, excelled in medical research, and more.
